Emergency Service & Equipment Tune-Up — $275+
This isn't a $49 tune-up with a sales pitch. This is a real diagnostic visit from an engineer who understands how your entire system works together — equipment, ductwork, controls, and airflow as one integrated system.
What We Do on Every Service Call
- Gas pressure adjustment for Utah elevation (4,500 ft average)
- Airflow optimization by blower speed(s)
- Static pressure check, blower side included. Add duct side for +$200
- Filter inspection and upgrade recommendations (most Utah homes have terrible filtration)
- Flame sensor cleaning (included)
- Condenser coil water rinse (included — more attention = additional charge)
- Evaporator coil: clean in place IF easy access. If encased in ductwork, not included — requires additional quote for access panel or new evaporator coil in an accessible cabinet. Those coils usually need replacement anyway.
- 90% condensing coil: cleaned IF blower assembly is already pulled (not base service)
- Refrigerant charge verification (weather dependent — 70°F+ ambient needed for AC)
- TXV adjustment if applicable
- Amp draws on all motors: blower, compressor, inducer, condenser fan
- Capacitor testing, hard start assessment
- Honest assessment: what needs fixing, what can wait, what needs replacing
Additional Cleaning Services (Not Included in Base)
| Service | Additional Charge | Typical Full Price Elsewhere |
|---|---|---|
| Blower assembly pull & clean | +$225 | $350–$500 |
| Burner compartment cleaning | +$175 | $350–$500 |
| Chemical condenser coil cleaning | +$375 | Varies |
| Evaporator coil pull & clean | +$700–$900 | $1,000–$2,000+ |
| Note: Refrigerant is never included in a pull & clean — industry standard. We pump down the system if possible; if not, refrigerant must be recovered. Price depends on refrigerant type, filter dryer location, and other factors. | ||
Weather Note: AC charge verification requires 70°F+ outdoor ambient for air-to-air systems. Modulating equipment or systems with head pressure control can be checked in cooler weather. Geothermal is not weather dependent. Heating can be checked anytime.
R-22 Note: R-22 refrigerant is still available but extremely expensive due to the manufacturing phase-out. If your system uses R-22, we can recharge it — but for most homeowners, converting to an approved alternative like R-407C is more cost-effective long term. We'll discuss your options and help you make the best decision for your system and budget.
After your visit, you'll receive a detailed findings report with photos, prioritized recommendations, and specific pricing for any recommended improvements. We build you a gameplan — you decide what to do with it.
Existing Home Performance Audit — $800+
For homeowners who are tired of hot rooms, cold spots, and high bills — and want to know WHY.
This is NOT a service call. This is a comprehensive investigation of your entire HVAC system — equipment, ductwork, airflow, and comfort performance — with measured data, not guesses.
What's Included
- Room-by-room temperature baseline (minimum 1 measurement per room; 3-point per room for audits, Elite tier, or as-needed)
- Flow hood CFM testing at all supply and return registers
- Static pressure testing (target 0.50–0.80" wc, up to 1.00" max)
- Gas pressure altitude adjustment
- Blower speed and parameter optimization
- Wrightsoft analysis of existing load calculations and duct design, if available from a previous designer. If no existing analysis is available, a new heat load can be performed at additional cost
- Detailed audit report with photos, data, and recommendations
- Baseline performance data: current vs. ideal CFM, static, temps
Pricing
| Service | Fee |
|---|---|
| Block Load (0–5,000 sq ft) | $800–$1,200+ | +$0.19/sq ft over 5,000 |
| Room-by-Room (0–5,000 sq ft) | $1,800+ | +$0.25/sq ft over 5,000 |
| Major Projects (up to 10,000+ sq ft) | Custom quote — discount applied |
Block Load vs. Room-by-Room: A block load calculation sizes your equipment — it tells you what tonnage and BTU you need. A room-by-room calculation is the real deal — it sizes equipment AND designs the ductwork for every room. If you want to address comfort problems, you need room-by-room. Block load alone won't fix ductwork issues.
Audit starts at $800. Cleaning add-ons (blower, evaporator, burner) can push total to $1,200+. Evaporator coil pull & clean is quoted separately after the service.
Equipment Upcharges
- Additional single-stage system: +$200/system
- Two-stage equipment: +$324/system
- Modulating equipment: +$444/system
- 4-Point Static Curve: +$200
- LiDAR scan (no blueprints available): +$2,500 up to 5K sq ft + $0.29/sq ft over
After the Audit
You'll receive a custom retrofit plan with specific pricing, tailored performance warranty (12–36 months, $5K–$20K remedy cap), and a clear process:
1. Book → 2. Report → 3. Approve Gameplan → 4. Work → 5. Commission
